Indonesia Hidden Heritage Creative Hub (IHHCH) had dinner with the Jakarta Museum Ambassadors to hold discussions regarding the empowerment of historical museums in Indonesia, especially in the Jakarta area. The meeting was held on Monday, 16 January 2023 this gave birth to a lot of new inspiration, because the Jakarta Museum Ambassadors themselves are represented by young people from various backgrounds. This made the discussion even more interesting because it brought up a lot of fresh ideas representing the younger generation.

The representatives of the Jakarta Museum Ambassadors are tasked with helping spread the understanding that a museum is not just a place to display historical collections, rather it can be a recreational place of choice for the community.

This discussion began by introducing each representative from both parties. The History Museum Ambassador itself has representatives with various educational backgrounds and different professions. This makes each of them have their own idea and role in promoting the museum.

IHHCH Executive Director, Nofa Farida Lestari also welcomed the aspirations given by the Ambassadors. Nof said, that our current mission is to develop museums into creative public spaces, no longer just a place that displays historical collections for example. So that the intended target market is not only history lovers, but also the general public who want to find a recreation space.

To make this happen, certainly not through an instant process. A change is needed from the way the museum is managed, coupled with a strong promotion. Another strategy is to carry out collaborative actions of various agencies or institutions. This is what IHHCH wants to do with Duta Museum Jakarta, namely to revive welfare museums into attractive places to visit.

One of the Jakarta Museum Ambassadors, Waliya Rizka, who has an educational background in Pharmacy shared his aspirations regarding the importance of developing the Health Museum. One of the Health Museums in the Jakarta area is the Indonesian Health and Medical Museum (WIN) in Salem Raya, Central Jakarta. This museum is used as a place of learning and education in the field of health and medicine. However, what is of concern here is the need for the Museum of Health to archive the history of healing diseases and the tools used in the past.

Through this story, it is also important to preserve the museum which holds collections of Indonesian health history. In order for any disease or virus development, and methods of healing can be well presented in museums and known to the wider community. Of course with an interesting museum packaging.

Thus, efforts to campaign for the image of the museum as a creative public space need to be carried out with a collaborative action. This was expected by IHHCH and also the Jakarta Museum Ambassador after this meeting, so that in the future we can have partnerships, and transforming the museum into an attractive place for recreation.
