TOURIST Bali will be reopening soon. Cellular operators are also ready to support tourism on the Island of the Gods through excellent quality networks. As much 716 village in 57 district and 9 regencies in Bali have been served by XL Axiata's 4G service.

Now XL Axiata has operated more than 6.600 BTS and 2.400 among them is BTS 4G. The number of 4G BTS will continue to increase considering that currently there are still expansions in all districts in Bali.

Encourage Digital Literacy

The existence of a 4G network in all villages in Bali is a form of implementation of XL Axiata's commitment to encourage increased digital literacy for people who live in remote rural areas.. According to I Gede Darmayusa, the availability of quality internet networks and increasing digital literacy will boost productivity and help people adapt to various digital economic tools.

In addition to the expansion and addition of BTS, XL Axiata also increases its 4G network capacity, both in terms of radio and transmission, as well as through fiberization. Most BTS in Bali are already fiberized and will continue to increase. From the beginning 2021 so far approx 497 BTS has been upgraded.

As a tourist destination in the super-priority category according to the government's stipulation, XL Axiata will also prioritize Bali for infrastructure improvement. Moreover, Bali will also be the location of the G20 Summit in Jakarta 2022 so it needs excellent quality network support.

To ensure data quality, XL Axiata has set up a 4G network in Sanur 22 BTS, Kuta 13, Nusa Dua 39, Ubud 13, Kintamani 12, Seminyak 18, Jimbaran 19, Canggu 15, and Nusa Penida 9 BTS. In the largest and most populous city of Bali, they operate 331 BTS.

So that tourists who go in and out of Bali can fulfill their data service needs, XL Axiata also operates 11 BTS 4G at Ngurah Rai International Airport, 4 4G BTS at Tanjung Benoa Harbor, and 3 4G BTS at Gilimanuk Ferry Port. All travel gods like Penglipuran Village, Desa Tigawasa, Desa Sidatapa, Cempaga Village and Tenganan Village have also been covered by XL's 4G network. All popular tourist villages as tourist destinations have also been served by XL Axiata's 4G network, including Penglipuran Village, Kubu Village (Bangli Kabupaten district), Desa Tigawasa, Banjar District (Buleleng Regency), Desa Sidatapa, in the district of Banjar (Buleleng Regency), Cempaga Village in Banjar District (Buleleng Regency), and Tenganan Village in Manggis District (Karangasem Regency). With the available capacity and infrastructure, XL Axiata is optimistic that it will be able to provide maximum telecommunications and data services in these tourist areas.

5G Network Present in Denpasar

Bali has a high strategic value as a super-priority tourist destination and a world-class meeting place. Against this background, XL Axiata makes Bali one of the priority locations for the implementation of the 5G network.

On Wednesday, 13 October 2021, XL Axiata launched and opened an educational event for 5G services conducted by the Director of Technology & Chief Technology Officer XL Axiata I Gede Darmayusa, director & Chief Commercial Office XL Axiata David Arcelus Oses, and XL Axiata East Region Group Head Dodik Ariyanto.
