Traveldiva – OYO, leading accommodation platform in Indonesia, just signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indonesian National Sports Committee (HORSES) Center to support National Sports Week (MON) XXI Aceh-North Sumatra 2024. This agreement was signed at the Central KONI office in Senayan by the General Chair of Central KONI, Retired TNI Lieutenant General Marciano Norman, and Hendro Tan, Country Supply and Operational Head OYO Indonesia.
This partnership will start simultaneously with the implementation of PON XXI which will be held from 8 to 20 September 2024. This event will feature 67 Sports, with 33 branches in Aceh and 34 branch in North Sumatra.
As one of the main accommodation providers in Indonesia, OYO is committed to providing high-quality accommodation for athletes, assistant, and the crew involved. other than that, OYO will provide catering and transportation services during the event. With more than 3.000 properties spread across 180 Indonesian city, OYO is ready to ensure that all accommodation and logistics needs of PON participants can be met properly.
This collaboration reflects similar success that OYO has achieved in India, where they have supported various big sporting events like Khelo India, University Games, and Rural Olympics. Through this initiative, OYO hopes to make a positive contribution to sporting achievements in Indonesia, while providing a positive impact on the local economy. Previous, OYO has also created more than 20.000 employment opportunities and supporting the income of MSMEs throughout Indonesia.
PON XXI Aceh-North Sumatra 2024 will be held in two provinces with wide coverage. In Aceh, This event will take place at 10 districts/cities in total 43 discipline and 515 match number. Meanwhile in North Sumatra, this tournament will involve 34 Sports, 46 discipline, and 527 match number in 37 venues spread across 10 district/city. Overall, around 6.854 athletes from Aceh and 6.281 Athletes from North Sumatra will compete in this event.

Central KONI also expressed initial concerns regarding the availability of accommodation outside the provincial capital. OYO's role in providing adequate accommodation in various districts/cities is one of the main reasons for establishing this collaboration. Retired TNI Lieutenant General Marciano Norman added, “This strategic collaboration will make it very easy for KONI to ensure the availability of accommodation that meets standards. We hope that the quality of PON XXI can improve, especially in terms of comfortable accommodation for athletes and participants.”
With a strong commitment from both sides, expected PON XXI Aceh-North Sumatra 2024 will be a great success that will not only make Indonesia proud on the national sports stage, but also provide broad economic and social benefits to local communities.
