Saudi Arabia has confirmed its first case of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 originating in the north African country. This information was submitted by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on 1 December. SPA (Saudi Press Agency), has quoted a statement from the kingdom's ministry of health, say authorities have isolated people infected with the Omicron varian variant.

Local authorities are also isolating people who come in contact with those who have been infected. This matter, making the case of the Omicron variant the first reported in the Middle East and North Africa. Ministry of Health added, the patient is a citizen of Saudi Arabia who has traveled from a North African country, without providing further details of the country in question.

So with this, Deputy Minister of Religion (Deputy Minister) Zainut Tauhid Sa'adi says, The government is still waiting for confirmation from the Saudi Arabian government regarding the departure of Umrah this month. This scenario starts from before departure, in Saudi Arabia, to return to the homeland.

Umrah pilgrims must report their visas and documents to the Ministry of Religion or take care of the administrative process. After all procedures are done, Indonesian pilgrims depart for Saudi Arabia by using a plane with all seats specifically for Umrah pilgrims.
