Traveldiva – Japan offers a unique experience for tourists by holding a hide-and-seek event on Tsumaga Island, an uninhabited island in Nagasaki Prefecture. This event is planned to take place on 3-4 November 2024 and organized by the Japan Hide and Seek Association.
Tsumaga Island, which is located off the coast of Pulau Iki, will be the main location for this event. This small island offers beautiful natural views and a challenging atmosphere for playing hide and seek. Japan Hide and Seek Association invites 100 participant, with 90 people will act as seekers and 10 orang lainnya sebagai ‘oni’ atau pencari. This event is not just a game; Participants will also be invited to enjoy the natural beauty of the island and spend the night there.
The game will last for two hours, where every seeker found will turn into an 'oni'. Hadiah akan diberikan kepada pengumpet yang paling lama tidak ditemukan dan ‘oni’ yang paling banyak menemukan peserta lain. A points system is also implemented, with seekers get 10 points for each 10 minutes they managed to hide, dan ‘oni’ mendapatkan setengah dari poin tersebut jika menemukan pengumpet.
This event is also open to members of Japan's national hide-and-seek team as well as the Japan Self-Defense Forces. For interested tourists, Registration is open now 25 August with a participation fee of 24.800 Yen (around Rp 2,6 million). Two-night packages are also available for a price 45.800 Yen (around Rp 4,86 million), including staying at a nearby ryokan before the event.
Apart from participants, The Japan Hide and Seek Association is also looking for volunteers to help run the event. As much 30 volunteers will be invited to attend a pre-game event on 24 and 25 August, with a participation fee of 13.800 Yen (around Rp 1,46 million). Volunteers will receive training on how to help manage the event.
Although this event was organized by the Japan Hide and Seek Association, there are no nationality restrictions to follow. However, Good Japanese language skills are highly recommended so that participants can follow the rules and instructions well.
