The Indonesian government has set 5 Tourism Super Priority Destinations. Dana is committed to helping MSMEs there Go Digital.

The five Super Priority Destinations will become the Special Economic Zones (CAKE) tourism, one of them is Likupang in North Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi. It is hoped that the Likupang SEZ will be able to boost the tourism sector in North Sulawesi. As happened in other areas, The tourism sector in North Sulawesi, which has been widely known for its marine tourism charm, has also been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Apart from the development of supporting infrastructure, readiness of business actors, especially micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) is also a determinant of development success 5 Super Priority Destinations. Therefore, the government through the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs continues to encourage the digitization of MSMEs in these tourist destination areas, including in Likupang. By entering the digital ecosystem, MSMEs will be better prepared to face challenges and seize opportunities in various conditions.

Indonesia's digital wallet, DANA, positively welcoming and supporting the government's efforts to develop priority tourism areas and encourage MSMEs to go digital. This support was realized through a visit to North Sulawesi to meet with the Provisional Officials (Pjs) Minahasa Utara, Clay J. H. Dondokambey, S.STP, MAP, as well as a number of MSME players there, including from Likupang. On this occasion, DANA is not only sharing knowledge with MSME players regarding the use of digital technology to develop businesses, but also directly help MSMEs connect with the digital ecosystem.

"The Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on the tourism sector, which has been supporting the economy of North Sulawesi. On one side, this condition can be a momentum for transformation in the tourism sector. Tourism sector players, including MSMEs, must be able to adapt to the challenges that occur today and in the future by utilizing digital technology,"Said Agustina Samara, Chief People & Corporate Strategy Officer DANA.

Agustina added, "DANA with its technology that carries an open platform can synergize with many parties to build a cashless ecosystem as a solution in the digital era.. DANA is also a friend of MSMEs by presenting inclusive technology which is expected to increase the capacity and competence of MSMEs. By joining DANA Bisnis, MSME players are not only connected to the digital ecosystem, but they will also receive assistance in developing their business as well as opportunities to be promoted more broadly. "

The visit to North Sulawesi is a continuation of DANA's efforts in supporting the acceleration of the digitization of MSMEs. DANA previously held similar activities in Banyuwangi and Mandalika, Lombok. This is also a commitment to DANA in supporting the government's target link 2 million SMEs with digital ecosystems until the end of the year 2020. Currently, as much 200.000 UMKM has joined DANA Bisnis, special features provided by DANA to assist MSMEs in managing and developing their businesses.
