Malioboro, as a tourism icon, Yogyakarta is currently preparing to welcome back tourist visits.

“When visiting time remains 15 or 10 minute, visitors will receive a short message reminding them to leave Malioboro immediately,” he continued.
If tourists are still desperate to be in Malioboro, the short message will continue to be sent. Meanwhile, Ekwanto also reminded that for tourism buses there would be a discourse to be examined by Transportation Service officers at the Giwangan Terminal.
Furthermore, Ekwanto also explained that the tour bus inspection was intended to ensure that visitors had been vaccinated with evidence in the form of a vaccine card and ensure that all tour bus passengers adhered to strict health protocols..
“If you pass the inspection, new tourism buses will be allowed to enter Yogyakarta City,” added Ekwanto.
For tourists who don't come in groups, inspection, especially the proof of COVID-19 vaccine card, will be done at the entrances of Malioboro.
It's around 40 Malioboro security personnel, Jogoboro, who will be dropped off to carry out visitor checks. Later there will be assistance from Satpol PP and Dishub.
This new policy for traveling in Malioboro is projected to be a long-term rule to ensure all visitors, traveler, officer, and economic actors in the Malioboro area are safe.
