Traveldiva.id – Airbnb has introduced a variety of new features to help guests find the home they love most. Along with the recovery of tourism conditions in the Asia Pacific region, which has returned to pre-pandemic levels, some guests still have difficulty finding suitable accommodation among the many choices available.
Airbnb's Winter Release addresses feedback from the community by introducing Guest Choices. Along with the update, Airbnb also shared that the Asia Pacific market, including Indonesia, experienced growth from year to year above 30% for gross revenue from bookings based on the guest's country of origin.
As more and more guests travel to this region, There are increasingly more opportunities for local businesses to develop. Airbnb is also introducing a series of features for Hosts to organize their accommodation listings.
Guest Choice
In Indonesia, there are more than 1,7 million reviews left by guests since Airbnb was founded. However, many guests don't know how to find the accommodation that other guests like best. Via the Guest Choice feature, now they can easily find their preferred staycation accommodation.
Interestingly, almost 50 percent of properties that are Guest Choice in Indonesia are managed by women , while approx 10 the other percent is by the elderly.
Ratings and reviews overhaul
Leaving a review after a stay can help other guests know whether the accommodation met their expectations or not. Even, Around 88 percent of guests in Indonesia who uploaded reviews, awarded five stars to at least one inn in the past year
Since Airbnb was founded, there are more than 371 million reviews left by guests, making it a valuable collection of information to help other guests choose the right accommodation. This information was previously difficult for guests to find, that's why Airbnb is overhauling ratings and reviews to make it easier for guests to find the reviews that are most helpful to them.
Some of the most guest-friendly cities and districts in Indonesia with the highest five-star review rates include South Tangerang, Banten; Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta; Surabaya, East Java; Jakarta Capital Special Region; and Denpasar, Bali.
More updates for Hosts and Co-Hosts
In addition to the new Lodging List tab, Winter Release 2023 includes price visibility for Hosts, help the Host to compare prices with nearby accommodations, track price trends throughout the year, and see a detailed description of payments that have been and will be given.
